I worked with Jim while serving as the QA Lead at Sony Bend on the "Days Gone" project. Jim was an excellent resource to lean upon, as he has climbed through the ranks of game development. As a person who also began his career in QA, I was able to frequently utilize Jim for advice, approaches, and execution of numerous functions within QA as a whole. Despite his position of prominence, his top-tier communication skills, willingness to listen to perspectives beyond his own, and innate desire to mentor less-experienced colleagues is unprecedented for someone of his ability. I can confidently say that he helped me to become a better QA Lead. Additionally, his work within the FX department at Sony Bend was so exemplary that he was promoted to run his own department within months of arriving here. Jim's multi-utilitarian background makes him a tremendous asset to any company. I believe he would excel as a Lead, as a producer, or even as an Art Director. Given the incredibly high bar set for art within our studio already, to be able to come in and deliver so much in such a quick time frame is remarkable. I would recommend Jim to any studio out there, and if I'm fortunate, I'll get to work with him again in the future.

Jim is one of the best mentors that I ever had the opportunity of having. Though we didn't always see eye to eye, Jim always gave me the opportunity to state my case and, if I truly believed in my decision, to let me go through with it and learn from it and if necessary, offered support when I needed it or criticism when I really needed it. He's the kind of lead that has seen a lot of craziness in game development and has found the way to turn those stories into parables with a lesson to learn from so many of them. You'd be hard pressed to find someone with his experience and the equal ability to imbue that experience onto others. He helped me not only find a position at the company, but worked with me to create a position that left me more fulfilled and used my skills better than what I had been hired to do.
