  • To create Awareness on the advantages of using good quality rice seeds to high productivity • Support the training of field technicians to demonstrate and extend, not only improved rice seeds to farmers but best practices in agriculture. • Organize seed growers and assist them in the foundation and/or certified seed production, where possible.  Liaise with the post-harvest department to review periodically the stock of seeds in store and recommend the appropriate action to the Head of the Interim Management Team. • Setup and perform research on rice improvement and quality seed production with little or no supervision and encourage good team spirit among junior staff members. • Supervise the implementation of seed multiplication and participatory research and extension interventions of the Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI), in all of its administrative domains. • Receive all rice seeds brought to CARI for either trial or multiplication and work out immediately procedures to execute such program; coordinate the process and submit periodic progress reports to management and the concern seed donor agency.  Perform other related duties and activities upon instructions of the Head of the Interim Management Team of the Central Agricultural Research Institute or the minister of agriculture.
