  Being a member of the Parallel CFD & Optimisation Unit at the NTUA has given me the opportunity to learn from leading European developers, both industrial and open-source, in the fields of optimization and computational fluid dynamics.My work, which has been published and contributed to a von Karmen Institute lecture, has been presented at the following international conferences:• ECCOMAS, Crete Island, Greece, 2016.• EUROGEN, Madrid, Spain, 2017.• 12th OpenFOAM Workshop, Exeter, UK, 2017.• AIAA SciTech, Kissimmee, FL, USA, 2018.and primarily pertains to:• Transition from adjoint-driven topology to shape optimization.• Black-box manifold parameterization techniques.
