I had the pleasure of working under James for almost two years. I personally grew my base of knowledge and career tremendously and I am so grateful for the experience of being on his highly motivated team. James is a no nonsense leader with a long history in the industry. During his time I saw turnover come to a screeching halt as sales people felt like they were a part of the family, not to mention they started making more money as our team drove the needle in the right direction. I witnessed the sales floor and the managers on the desk and in F&I working hard because of the culture of winning that he cultivated every day. Our dealership was in a subprime demographic with a highly competitive PMA. Taking on the task of accomplishing great things in a difficult area takes great leadership and a carefully planned and executed strategy. Under James we reached great heights and as I have moved on to another dealership I found that that leadership is not easily duplicated. Under the tutelage of Del Delozier, we averaged 125 plus new cars a month and 100 plus used/certified pre-owned units a month. In an area that had a population of over 500,000 people in the Greater Greenville area and 5 Honda dealerships within the perimeter, we thrived on a “customer experience first” model.
