  As a research assistant, I was apart of Hans Metzen's research group, which dealt with the qualitative identification of flavoring compounds in various varieties of hops. During my time I prepared hops samples using suction filtration and extraction, mimicked the boiling process of brewing to analyze the trend of how flavoring compounds changed over time, and created a flavor profile of the hops based on GCMS readings and scent databases.
