Cengage Learning is an international publisher of educational material and my role included: • Created concepts and design solutions and managed production • Managed, supported, trained and art directed direct reports • Created processes and procedures including liaison and training for editorial staff on cross platform software • Managed the transformation of print to ebooks and ‘Teacher’s Assessment Kits’ to digital online subscription • Worked along side in-house UX, UI and CSS/HTML5 programmers providing skin designs for UX’s wire frames, design solutions for clear visual communication and easy navigation for UI and web assets, colours and responsive canvas solutions • Art directed primary export including: Intervention Press (Danish), Cheneliere (French), Harcourt (USA), Nelson Education (Canada), Nelson Thornes (UK) • Provided sketches and direction to our marketing and sales team for booth display of my new designs • Implemented new Software including Q2IN and InCopy • Provided templates and managed freelancer resources in and out of house • Commissioned and sourced illustrators, photographers, UX, animators and external designers • Directed diversity photo shoots with disabled support • Created marked up PDFs for web, screen, press + barcodes Show less
