I met James Lee a few years ago at an Assisted Living in San Antonio. We had a great meeting and we continued to stay in touch. I attended a workshop of his last year. After attending the workshop, I reached out to James. I said James my man that was a heck of a workshop. I’ve been having this issue at my work for years not related to that workshop, but I think you just may be the one to help me get over the hump. James and I visited came up with a plan. I invited my key people from the organization to participate in a one-day workshop with James. The meeting was a huge success and helped open the eyes of the key people of my organization. We are achieving what has been a very complex and tough project for me and it’s going to be one of the best investments I have made for the future of our company. James is a professional and has great insight on complex business issues beyond the numbers. I highly recommend James to help you with your organizations strategies.

Bella Groves is a membership based dementia care and training organization based in San Antonio, Texas. We believe that dementia care and support isn't just a place. It is a service. As a co-founder and the CEO of Bella Groves, I lead the organization in setting a bold vision for changing how families in central Texas affected by dementia are supported through a foundation of education. We are beginning with the opening of a 32-bed dementia care residence in north San Antonio (Bulverde) as the hub of services, which include dementia training, care coordination services, and other learning products aimed at helping families to better care for their loved ones AT HOME. It is long past time that families receive the full breadth of our profession's know-how, not just at the end of their journey with dementia but from the very beginning. Here's to more than a "long goodbye." Here's to Unconditional Joy. Show less

Sales Learning and Development Specialist

Apr 2013 - Mar 2016
As a Sales Learning Specialist (SLS), I endeavor to serve Brookdale's future residents and loved ones by enabling sales professionals to learn and excel at building meaningful relationships. - Lead author and project manager of “School of Sales” orientation and training curriculum for Brookdale, post-merger. As a team, we developed a relationship-based sales training system, with all of the associated training content, LMS coursework, learner/coaching guides, presentation assets, and post-learning assessment tools. - Subject Matter Expert (SME) and the team’s liaison to the Instructional Design department in creating two editions of an internally used website (Microsite) for delivering sales training curriculum to the field. - Member of Learning Impact Team, which helped, in part, to structure the framework of L&D, prioritize learning initiatives, and provide direction for the department. The SLS role resonates with me deeply, because I have great latitude for creativity and self-direction while working as part of many different teams. The most meaningful element of the job for me is evoking reflective "aha moments" in trainees (and myself) as we come to a closer understanding of how to serve others through sales.[April 2013 - August 2014: Sales Training Specialist with Emeritus Senior Living (pre-merger)]. Sales Training Specialist

Apr 2013 - Aug 2014
I credit Emeritus and its leadership, both in and out of Learning & Development, for helping me to shape my affinity and regard for helping others through learning. As a sales trainer, I partnered with divisional leaders (VPs of Operations, Clinical, and Sales) to assist in recruitment/interviews of sales candidates, on boarding and orientation of new associates, delivering sales trainings, conducting site-visits to observe and model skills, and coordinate with local teams to support ongoing development at the completion of orientation. With support from the VPSM, I created and facilitated a Sales Training event to all communities in the division within a six-week span. This rigorous training schedule was worthwhile, because it provided a consistency in a shared/timely learning experience, taught sales methods and practices, and delivered coordinated expectations. The "Power of You" training was unique in its utilization of behavior-models (i.e. Trust, Understanding, Relationships) to construct the framework of the skills to practice. Show less
