Dyena manufacture vessel monitoring and crew tracking systems providing real time data across a fleet.Simple to fit and autonomous in operation, recording acceleration and vessel motion in 6 axes, GPS position and speed, and full NMEA data. Uploaded data to the cloud server can be review from anywhere in the world.Various Packages are available depending upon requirements, from vessel warranty protection or crew tracking through to high resolution monitoring with multiple remote sensors all collecting data for in depth studies on a vessels performance. With Dyena OFFSHORE operators can manage their fleet and the wellbeing of staff across the globe. The data can be used in many ways, including condition based maintenance, training and team improvement. The Dyena Acceleration Recorder is the latest product to be released. The first of the next generation of Whole Body Vibration monitoring systems, designed specifically as a solution for boats and vehicles that are subject to the latest European Directive and UK legislation on vibration exposure in the workplace. The DaccR monitors crew exposure to WBV and automatically records shock and impact exposure information. Designed specifically for the demands of professional marine and offshore operators, shock-loads are recorded alongside GPS data such as position, speed, heading and time, providing a complete, indelible and personal record of operations.www.dyena.com Show less

Yan Engines are developing their D-Cycle technology to improve the efficiency of the 4 stroke engine. The heart of the D-Cycle is a split-piston that completes the four engine strokes in a single crankshaft revolution, reducing the cyclic energy losses. The D-Cycle performs both functions in a single revolution by splitting the piston and using the lightweight top half ¬¬for the low stress functions of gas exchange and the combined halves for the high stress compression and combustion functions. Working with James Fisher Defences engineering team, we have developed the WaveBack range of shock mitigating seats for the military and defence sectors, responding directly to their requirements for installation, performance and servicing. The WaveBack range of shock mitigating seats enables vessel operators to meet EU requirements for crew impact and vibration protection. WaveBack seats have been designed for use on fast RIBs, personnel insertion craft and surface-skimming swimmer delivery vehicles. Show less

XSMG World is a British boat design and manufacturing company focused on producing a range of award of very high speed light craft for the global military market. XSMG works in collaboration with global systems suppliers to equip the vessels with state of the art technology, weaponry and communications systems which are the key demands in today’s complex combat arena. The XSR Interceptor is the world’s most technically advanced vessel in its class, providing governments and commercial users with high speed interception and offshore patrol capability, to counter the most complex of modern waterborne threats. Most recently I have completed the design and development of a Retractable Remote Weapon Station platform for High Speed Interceptor Craft. This allows the vessels weapon systems to be stored in a dry compartment, allowing it to operate more covertly and then raise their weapons to engage targets whilst travelling at high speed. The weapons are operated from within the vessel, thus preserving the crew from hostile fire. To my knowledge it is the first time this has been achieved whilst maintaining weapon accuracy at high speed. Show less

The Variable Surface Drive (VSD) was developed as an advanced propulsion system for marine craft. The VSD concept was considerably ahead of all next-generation propulsion systems offering exceptional manoeuvrability, performance and economy. Using thrust vectoring props for automatically optimised trim and roll, the VSD offered considerably improved performance for medium and high speed craft. Whilst working here, my main responsibility the design of the suspension, although as a relatively small design team, my role also includes the design of a variety of components throughout the car including composite components, mechanical assemblies, bodyshell and roll cage design. My most memorable project was the design of a beskoke shock absorber system, incorporating a completely new method of providing accurate damping characteristics. With a £800,000 budget, every single part of the system was designed specifically for its role, with the only off-the-shelf parts being a circlip and a few ball bearings! Show less

Biography
-
Jan 2000 - Jan 2002
An experienced Design Engineer & Naval Architect, my technical skills are focused around mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system design. My original specialty was suspension design for race cars and I have produced custom designs for many teams, including Formula One, World Rally and Touring Cars. I left motorsport to develop a concept for a Magneto-Rheological Fluid Gearbox, intended as a new compact gearbox for use in small automobiles. After a period of working as a project specialist on fuel injection systems I moved into the maritime sector, working first on a new marine propulsion technology, and then as Head of Engineering Design for high performance powerboat company. In November 2011 I founded my own design company, Dyena, and have most recently been working with James Fisher Defence on their new WaveBack range of shock mitigating seats. Show less
