Entrusted to manage and overhaul a team of 26 FTEs struggling from poor engagement scores and a misalignment with stakeholder requirements.Developed a compelling new vision for the team aligned to the business’ and stakeholder’s short and long term objectives.Restructured the team and within the first 3 months reduced FTE head count by >20%.Implemented development plans with all key reports, aligning them to the individuals’ ambitions and addressing skills gaps necessary to achieve the team’s vision.Within 12 months, improved the team’s engagement scores from second bottom to second top within the directorate, achieving three star status (highest score possible) and contributing to UK Power Networks placing 3rd in the Sunday Times Top 25 Best Big Companies to Work for list.Managed the team’s assurance of c.£200M Operational expenditure through 2019.Led with terminating the contract of a major groundworks supplier, developing and implementing the transition strategy and negotiating a final settlement >50% lower than originally tabled.Successfully managed the turnaround of a major supplier nearing insolvency, auditing its actual margin performance, developing a recovery plan, obtaining approval from the exec, and implemention.Declined a key supplier’s request to increase its rates by 16% by undertaking an bottom-up audit of their accounts which dispelled the basis of its claim.Specially assigned by the Finance Director to identify and address underlying reasons driving a c.£6M per annum loss in one of our major business divisions - the project was delivered in just 3 months.Scored “Exceeding Expectations” in year-end performance reviews in every year of employment.Commenced with the development of data-warehousing and analytics to report insights to key stakeholders more efficiently, freeing up team members to widen their remit and focus on new challenges.Initiated an ongoing project to digitise the commercial assurance processes.
