This apprenticeship was broken down into two different qualifications: - Level 3 Extended Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles. This portion was completed within the college and included units on Network Management, Website Design and IT Technical Support. - Level 3 Diploma in Professional Competence for IT & Telecom Professionals. This portion was completed at the workplace, where I had to demonstrate the theory which we had learnt at college, and included units on Software Installation and Upgrade, Project Management and Security of IT Systems. During my work placement I worked in the Gemini Devices section of Box, who are a manufacturer of Android based tablets and Smartphones. My role within the Gemini Devices repair centre was to: - Repair customer’s faulty units and log repair notes on an internal database. - Repair and refurbish faulty stock ready for resale. - Process purchase orders from other companies for their own repairs.
