A year spent in industry allowed me to develop both practical and theoretical skills. I was involved in a variety of research projects based on the surrounding wildlife of the village, particularly focussing on a group of long-tailed macaques inhabiting a near-by forest. The project was also heavily involved in the local community, encouraging a positive attitude towards the environment and encouraging scientific interest.
