Focus on providing senior project management, oversight and mentoring on projects, in addition to developing and fostering new relationships with clients, regulators and stakeholders to assist in the growth of the business.A key area of interest is to utilise the latest technology and advances to improve efficiencies, particularly in the fieldwork component of contaminated land assessment; and reduce waste. An active member of the Wellington Contaminated Land community, I am a committee member of the Wellington branch of ALGA, having chaired technical seminars (for ALGA), and presented at WasteMinz technical seminars, and at the 2017 WasteMinz Conference. Working as part of a small team of experienced professionals, I worked as part of a diverse environmental consultancy providing innovative and holistic solutions to a range of environmental issues. I was responsible for the senior project management, review and oversight of projects to ensure their technical reliability and regulatory compliance. As part of a leadership role I trained and mentored junior staff. Key projects included: - Chlorinated hydrocarbon impacts to soil, groundwater (perched & deeper aquifer) and soil vapour at a large industrial facility in country Victoria. Works required to satisfy key international stakeholder requirements, in addition to meeting Environmental Audit compliance and CUTEP requirements for part of the Site. Investigations included the use of Waterloo WMS-LU samplers and Vapor Pins to assess potential vapour migration to indoor air, and subsequent groundwater investigation; - Investigation and remediation of fluoride impacted soil and groundwater at a former industrial facility in Melbourne to meet Environmental Audit compliance and CUTEP requirements for the proposed residential development of the Site. Additional works have included the management and sampling of potential PFAS and dioxins / furans impacts to groundwater to conclude the divestiture of the Site; - Numerous environmental assessment, remediation and environmental due diligence works for small to mid-scale property developers at a range of sites across Melbourne (e.g. former independent service stations and closed landfills) to satisfy the requirements of Section 53X Statutory Environmental Audits; As part of a small expanding business, a large part of my role also involved business development and identification of new and diverse opportunities. While at Edge, I was also elected onto the Victoria chapter of the ACLCA, first as an ordinary member, and later as Secretary, and co-authored papers presented at 2015 Clean Up Conference, and 2016 ALGA EcoForum. Managed and completed Phase I and Phase II soil & groundwater investigations as part of pre-purchase due diligence at sites including: warehouse & distribution centers, transportation depots, vehicle manufacturing facilities, engineering & manufacturing facilities, petroleum retail service stations, residential properties & agricultural properties. I managed & oversaw the successful remediation of soil & groundwater contamination at sites in NSW, SA, Tas & Vic, ensuring that all legislative requirements were adhered to; including MPE systems; soil vapour extraction systems; ISCO strategies; ISCR; ex-situ chemical oxidation strategies, in-situ & ex-situ bioremediation & groundwater pump & treat systems. During my time at OTEK I obtained Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI). This allowed me to develop project management and leadership skills to bring a more professional approach to all aspects of a project, to ensure the project is executed & controlled to our & the stakeholders expectations. I was a mentor in the Mentoring Program. This involved assisting & training junior members of the team in attaining their career goals by providing guidance, feedback & training opportunities. As part of the 'Future Leaders' program, I was mentored in Operational Management, and became responsible for the senior review of reports & documentation prior to submission to the client, auditor or stakeholder, and team fiscal management and budget reporting.
