  Undertook a 12 month placement with one of the UK and world’s biggest grain merchants, traders and processors. The role has involved the procurement of grain from farmers, calculating an ex-farm price for each individual farmer; assessing basis levels and giving an update as to the market’s position. The role has also involved spending time in the logistics department, planning the movement of Wheat and Oilseed Rape from farm to mill. As well as time in logistics, I have also spent some time at ADM Erith, learning and working on the trade desk; being involved in the buying and selling of seed and rape meal. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at ADM, gaining invaluable knowledge and experience in communicating with different personalities, working in an office environment and negotiating skills.
