  During the summer of 2017 I obtained a £2,000 grant from the Welch Joy Charitable Trust to carry out a research project. The project focused on marine gastropods and their ability to learn and form memory under different environmental conditions. Outcomes of the project were disseminated in the form of writing reports, e-mails, and presentations to the trust. Project work required me to design and carry out complex experimental procedures independently, as well as liaising/communicating with institution staff and trust members. The project was so successful that the trust requested me to produce a professional paper which has been submitted to a Journal and is pending publication. Working on this project allowed me to develop skills using microsoft and statistical software packages, working independently in an organised manner to meet deadlines, and communicating with other staff and third parties when required.
