Jim and I worked on a number of projects together. He has an excellent understanding of the Z-80 microprocessor and was always eager to help out. We spent a lot of time working in the field hunting for communications problems. Jim also surprised me with his skills as an aviator. He acted as my navigator and co-pilot flying into the wild Alaskan bush country.

My primary focus over the past 2 and a half years has been the refinement ACET machine user interface. (ACET) is an acronym and stands for Accurate Color Every Time. It is a machine that accurately measures out paint colors to a custom formula for an auto body shop, dictated by a PC based software package. Every aspect of the hardware and software had to be re-engineered, geared toward actual production of the machine. Also streamlining the software to give it an easier user experience. We now have several prototypes in operation in the US and Canada. Also designed an AC motor timer/controller with bluetooth interface and wireless control pad for auto body shop paint mixing application.

Started Mid October, very nice place to work. It reminds me a lot of the team I worked with at Rowe International, friendly work environment. As a contract Electronics Design Engineer, I was assigned to Crystal Group in Cedar Rapids Iowa. I quickly came up to speed on the projects needing my experience in DO-160 emissions testing. I played a major part in the final design of their 1005 Watt power supply, and getting it to pass MIL-461 and DO-160 at full power. I also worked on High powered Power factor correction circuits. Experience in Altium Designer and in the various military and Aerospace electrical system requirements such as DO-160, and MIL-461. It was very difficult leaving after my contract was up.

I was responsable for a couple of major developments. Expanded memory capacity and "Fast Pay" features on their BC-xxxx series bill changers. Also developed a hardware based audio file playback system for their "Hybrid CD and Internet combination" Juke boxes. I was responsable for a couple of major developments.
