I taught Humanities with an English-language focus in the Language and Literacy Minor, Creative & Professional Writing Minor and the Film Studies Minor in the Department of English Literature at UAEU. I was Coordinator of the Creative & Professional Writing Minor and Editor of Voices, the magazine of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The language program in Department of English Literature at UAEU is innovative and distinctive for its emphasis on humanities with an English-language and academic skills focus. I used content from literature, film, advertising, cultural studies and creative and professional writing to create and teach courses in academic research and writing, creative writing, speaking, listening, reading, screenwriting, film analysis, critical & creative thinking, cultural studies, grammar & punctuation, public speaking and debate and many more. Before UAEU, I taught English in Taiwan from 2004~2012 to students from pre-school age through to adult, where I also gained experience in GEPT & TOEIC test preparation, curriculum design, materials development, CALL applications, the writing of tests and examinations, hosting events, judging competitions and the organisation of field trips & social events.
