I had the pleasure of working with Jalaine for two years in graduate school in a number of capacities. We were on the Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA), Black History Month Committee, Dr. Martin Luther King Service Week Committee, and Black Graduation Planning committee together. Her work spoke for itself when she came to the table with ideas. Although not on the BGSA executive Board at first she stepped up to the plate to become Vice President after a number of members graduated from the executive board. I was highly impressed with how Jalaine was able to manage various tasks we worked on. I would like to specifically recognize Jalaine’ s contribution to the Black History Month Committee and pulling together the whole calendar and making sure every organization had rooms and whatever else they needed. Jalaine is one of those people you give a task to and she will knock it out the park. She will be an asset to any team she is a part of. What i admire most is she knows she doesn't always have to be in the front leading.
