My placement at NHS England lasted for twenty-two Months and gave me an greatly valuable experience of NHS finance processes and work ethic. Some of the funding mechanisms I have learned the process for are Capital scheme funding (which is a process for approving unexpected expenses like site renovation) and managing balanced budgets that were allocated to the CCGs and DCOs. I have also been learning how to use Excel to an advanced level as part of my AAT level 3. I can now use multiple formulas like V-Lookups and other functions such as Goal Seek and Pivot Tables.

I gained experience using an accounting software package called Syspro, working on bank reconciliation, accounts receivables and double entry bookkeeping. I also learnt about sales reports, customer reports and Excel spreadsheets. This gave me a good overview of the company and general accounting practices.
