Vassili Philippov
Jakub was a maths tutor of two of my sons. Both got into their dream six form school - King's College London Mathematics School. From my son: Jakub has tutored me for olympiad maths for 3 years. Every week he compiled the material that was not only relevant for the competitions I was doing at the time but also incorporated his understanding from his Master's research , making the lessons much more interesting and personal. He always carefully marked my work (whenever I ended up doing it) and gave useful feedback on optimal solving strategies and mindset in the exam/olympiad setting. In general our lessons were engaging and productive, leading to me competing on the national level throughout years 11-13 of school. I can recommend Jakub both as a knowledgeable academic, engaging teacher and capable organiser.

- In my research I used Electron Spin Resonance to study quantum properties of molecular magnets. - I am interested in creating robust entangling gates that can work in bulk, mimicking NMR quantum computing CNOT gates, but with better initial state. - I also investigated effects of electric field on molecular qubits, looking into a possibility for a better, more adressable driving mechanism.
