During my work in School of Medicine Research Group I: • Used various FACS-based measurements of ROS to investigate ROS formation during mitotic arrest. • Examined how ROS accumulation impacts DNA damage response through γH2AX formation using immunofluorescence and FISH techniques. • Investigated the influence of ROS formation during mitotic arrest on cell survival through live-cell imaging and other cell-based assays. Project: Twist oncogenes drive adaptive response towards oxidative and hypoxic stress. I worked full time in HCV and Cancer group, where I: • Identified molecular mechanism of Twist protection against ROS induced cell death (Floc'h,Kolodziejski et al 2013). • Discovered Twist’s non-cell autonomous, protective effect on cell survival under hypoxia (Kolodziejski et al in preparations) • Trained and mentored 2 students: designed and supervised their research projects.
