It is rare that you encounter a standout talent like Jakob Bjørn. I have had the pleasure of working with Jakob for 18 months in my role as a project manager. During that time, I’ve seen Jakob excel in not only the core elements of his job function like project management but also in mentoring and leadership. I have had the distinct pleasure of being part of Jakob Bjørn Nielsen’s team at MHI Vestas Offshore Wind. Jakob was my line manager for one year. He was the Head of Training, Development & PMO in HR. When I joined the training and development area was a burning platform as many contracts had been signed and the company was rapidly growing. Jakob quickly identified action areas and set various initiatives into motion. In a short time, he made a turnaround and established a solid platform from which the business could develop and expand. To mention a few of his accomplishments: he scoped, developed and implemented a full-scale governance setup for Training and Development. Furthermore, he established a training framework for four manufacturing sites which of course was compliant with applicable standards and regulations including ISO and BSH. Additionally, he created a PMO framework for HR. All delivered on time and within budget. I am truly impressed by Jakob’s ability to handle obstacles and complex situations. Jakob never gets stressed or misses a deadline. Jakob is by far the best troubleshooter I have meet in my professional career. His ability to solve complex problems in stressed situations and with limited time is outstanding! One might think that Jakob’s project management skills is the reason for his success, but Jakob’s people skills are even better. Jakob has an extra ordinary gift in his way of seeing people. He always sees the potential in and manage to get the best out of people. I always had a feeling of empowerment when working with Jakob. His firm and positive believe in people gives the power to go for it – and it brings results and a great working environment.
