Auroch Minerals The dominant workload completed during this employment tenure was running & supervising exploration drill programs to assist Auroch Minerals in their quest to attain 100Kt of contained Nickel across three differing tenement packages within internationally renowned nickel endowed greenstone belts. This included The Saints Nickel Project (Norseman-Wiluna Greenstone Belt, Scotia-Goongarrie region), Leinster Nickel projects (Norseman-Wiluna Greenstone Belt, Nickel West Region) and finally, The Nepean Nickel project situated South-west of Coolgardie. Key Responsibilities • Diamond (DDH) core lithological & structural logging with cutting & sampling • Supervision of field assistants & graduate geos associated with each drilling technique • Aircore (AC) & Reverse Circulation (RC) lithological logging & sampling • AC, RC & DDH rig & program management • Core yard management • Quality Control & Quality Assurance (QAQC) protocols regarding sampling • Supervision of hole pegging, drill site clearing & rehabilitation • Data entry whilst maintaining database hygiene • Design of preliminary AC programs utilising Leapfrog & Micromine • Creation of rig sampling & core processing procedures • Development of structural & geological models to supplement target generation Aurenne Group Completion of two brownfields RC drill programs for a private group within the Cowarna and Bulong South Gold Projects. The Bulong south program situated proximal to the Cannon Gold Mine attempting to target an additional 20,000Oz of gold for their resource (shear hosted orogenic gold) to enable economic underground development. Cowarna project was following up on preliminary gold anomalies acquired from first pass soil sampling / AC. Gold mineralisation was BIF hosted qtz-carb veinlets associated with arsenopyrite-pyrite situated a long strike from Silverlakes Santa mine. Resp • RC drill rig management & supervisions • Supervision of field assistant regarding sampling & QAQC procedures Show less

Liontown Resources is a rapidly emerging battery metals exploration development company at the forefront of a new generation of lithium developers, looking to capitalise on the resurgence of the lithium-ion battery sector within the coming years. Liontown Resources flagship project is the 100% owned Tier-1 Kathleen Valley Lithium-Tantalum deposit, with a recent interim MRE upgrade of 139Mt @ 1.3% Li2O and 140ppm Ta2O5 which is being utilised to create the most optimal outcome for the DFS to commence later this year. I joined the Liontown Resources team to aid process the large quantity of RC and DD material being utilised / implemented into the MRE to feed into the DFS. Key Responsibilities & experience included: - Sieving and logging of RC chips (Aid with hole termination decisions). - Diamond core processing (Meter marking, ori line markups, core box labelling and photography). - Core logging (LCT Pegmatites, alteration mineralogy, sulphide mineralisation, RQD & structures). - Core sawing. - Drill hole planning / demarcation. - Sample bag markup (RC/DD). - Auxiliary tasks associated with maintenance of the exploration site (Vehicle maintenance etc). MSc Thesis Title - "An Amalgamated Hyperspectral & Petrographic Study to Characterise Metasomatic Alteration Systems Associated with Magmatic to Footwall Assimilative Environments: The Rietfontein Farm, Brownfields Exploration within the Northern Limb of the Bushveld Complex, South Africa." Description of work undertaken - This dissertation project focused upon classifying and characterising alteration assemblages associated with the metasomatic assimilation alteration systems generated between the Transvaal Super-group (footwall) and the Rustenburg Layered Suite (magmatic component). Data collection to supplement this investigation included a 3-week residential trip to Anglo Americans Northern Limb Exploration Core Yard, to complete 2500m+ of geological logging to generate geological spatial context but also, to aid sample demarcation for further analysis. Samples acquired proceeded through an advanced petrographic study utilising optical microscopy, SEM & XRD analysis, to characterise the alteration assemblages but also, decrypt genetic processes and environmental conditions of formation. Subsequently, petrographic observational and semi-quantitative data was compared to the hyperspectral data set, to reconcile the scale accuracy but also, link potential genetic processes to specific hyperspectral signatures. • Exploration Targeting (MSc)
      • Sep 2018 - Sep 2019

Camborne School of Mines (CSM) Societies - SEG Student Chapter Exploration Targeting - Completed a remote target generation program within the Central Lapland Greenstone Belt (CLGB), generating prospective orogenic gold targets utilising open source data provided by the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK). The open source data manipulated within ArcPro and iOGAS included; regional geological, geochemical, geophysical, glacial and structural data, utilised in unison with academic literature defining prospective features to create multi-faceted validated orogenic gold targets. Data manipulation included the redefining of geological boundaries and structural features utilising regional geophysical data, generating geochemical interpolation heat maps via geostatistical kriging techniques and the creation of prospectivity maps implementing machine learning fuzzy logic coding procedures. Targets generated subsequently proceeded through a hypothetical budgeting process whereby I was tasked with developing the targets further through a year long exploration season structured into a gant chart. This included refining and improving upon the flaws / weaknesses identified within the regional data sets such as; increasing the density of geochemical sampling points, designing drill programmes and carrying out local geophysical surveys. Finally, this remote target generation programme was supplemented via a 12-day field excursion to the CLGB in order to ground truth observations and interpretations made during the target generation process. This included developing an appreciation for redefining local geological boundaries in relation to targeting prospective features with drilling campaigns, understanding the requirement for increasing the resolution of geophysical data with local surveys and increasing geochemical data density. Furthermore, it also enabled me to experience the logistical challenges provoked via adverse climatic and terrain conditions. Show less

    • Placement Geotechnical Engineer
      • Sep 2016 - Sep 2017

On the 4th of August 2017, I completed my 43 week long placement within Ameys Manchester Geotechnical department. During this placement I had the fantastic opportunity to be exposed to a vast range of major geotechnical sectors, such as; Rail & Consulting, Highways, Property and Environmental Services. Across these varying sectors I was able to undertake a wide variety of projects allowing me to diversify my skillset. Major project types during the Rail & Consulting work were as follows; - Trackbed Investigations (Phase 1 to 4) - Retaining wall Analysis - Ground Investigation reports - Earthworks reports Major project types within Highways work; - Project Management - Data Entry - Slope Stability Major project types within Property work; - Phase 1 & 2 contaminated land studies - Geotechnical Investigations - Drainage Surveys Major project types within Environmental Services; - Contamination assessments - Ecological analysis Overall, this diverse range of project engagement often required the ability to design and supervise drilling programs to ensure the drilling campaigns adhered to temporal constraints (punctuality), H&S regulations were maintained as specified within the project brief via tool box talks, specific geological / geotechnical data was collected i.e depth of stratigraphic horizons or voids but also, conduct geological and geotechnical core logging to BS 5930 to supplement the creation of conceptual ground models within factual and interpretative reports.
