As Foundation Phase Coach at the Birmingham City FC Academy, I work closely with the U9/U10 Cell Lead to develop the U9’s age group. Responsibilities for my role are the planning & delivery of training sessions within the guidelines of the Academy syllabus. Organisation & management of the U9’s match days, competing against some of the top category academy teams from around the U.K. Following weekly training sessions & match days, I complete detailed assessments for each individual player on a term by term basis using the PMA system to help them improve and progress. As a Foundation Phase Coach, I work closely with the Head of Academy, Head of Coaching, and Age Group Cell Lead’s in order to continue my own personal coaching development. Show less

In this role I worked exclusively in the Sports strand of the Walsall FC Foundation, the main duties of this role included;Supporting the Manager for Sport on the delivery outcomes for the Sport Dept. Management & coaching of the Post 16 football & eduction team & programme. Liaising with our eduction partner on the progress of the students in their studies as well as recruitment.Management, coaching & quality control of the Development Centre. In this role I mentored coaches through CPD & observations, as well as aid with the development of players in all ages groups in line with the Academy syllabus. Showing initiative as Development Centre Manager, I overhauled the player recruitment process. This new policy followed the guidelines of EPPP at Foundation Level. This restructure led to Academy Head of Phases & Scouts working alongside the Development Centre coaches on recruitment days. Subsequently the Academy integrated the policy within their own recruitment process. Management of the Twinning Project programme, with the planning & delivery of the FA’s “Developing Leadership Through Football” award. Liaising with our partnered HMPPS. Head Coach of the Walsall FC Foundation Post-16 Football & Education team, who play in the EFL CEFA league. Weekly I work on Pre and Post match game relevant session planning and delivery, as well as match day duties. I also liaise with our Education partner – Walsall College on the progress of the students in their studies In addition, I lead on the Twinning Project programme, planning and delivering The FA's "Developing Leadership Through Football" award. The Twinning Project is a partnership between Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) and professional football clubs with the objective of twinning every prison in England and Wales with a local professional football club. In addition to my Officer role, I work evenings and weekends as a Football Coach within Walsall FC Foundation’s Talented & Gifted Programme. My current ongoing role is to work with each years Elite U16's. This is with the aim and purpose of successfully promoting them through to our Post 16 Football & Education programme.Planning and delivering training sessions within the guidelines of the Walsall FC Foundation syllabus. As part of my role I am involved in a wide range of football coaching and sports coaching with multiple age groups, this includes;Assistant Manager for the Post-16 college team. Weekly I work on Pre and Post match game relevant session planning and delivery, as well as match day duties.As part of the Education arm of the Community Programme, each week I lead/support a timetable of football focused or sports focused PE sessions and clubs in multiple different primary schools. All sessions have to meet the National Curriculum standards. Each week I develop a lesson plan to ensure all participants get the most from sport.The Health & Engagement arm of the Community Programme allows me to work on various projects from sport and mental health with adults to engagement with disability sports.This varied role has also helped develop my skills in mentoring and improve the support offered to my players/students who all have different issues to contend with outside of playing football for Walsall FC. This volunteer work saw me involved in observing and assisting the coaches, where I gained an understanding of the high-level sessions delivered. As part of this volunteering I assisted with various ages, from U10 to U16. As well as their Advanced & Elite groups.
