Rebecca Knohl

Jacob worked as the general business manager for Knohl Law Group from August 2009 to October 2010. This position included responsibilities such as accounting and bookkeeping, management of employee and company records, drafting and revision of legal documents, and filing of legal documents with the Clerk of Court. Before Jacob started working for Knohl Law Group, the law firm did not have an organized bookkeeping system. Although our income exceeded our expenses, as busy lawyers, we were struggling to keep track of our revenues and to pay bills in a timely manner. On his own initiative, Jacob implemented a QuickBooks bookkeeping system and created professional financial statements based on that bookkeeping system. He categorized all of the law firm's income and expenses and gave us advice on how to manage the law firm's revenues. Within six weeks of when Jacob started working for Knohl Law Group, we had a completely organized bookkeeping system, were paying all of our bills on time, and even had excess revenue with which to repay loans from our shareholders. At the same time that Jacob revised Knohl Law Group's bookkeeping system, he also provided legal support services for the law firm's three attorneys. His legal support duties included drafting and revising legal documents such as subpoenas, appearances and motions, investigating and hiring medical and other types of experts, attending court call dates, and filing legal documents. Overall, Jacob impressed me with his organizational and time-management skills and his ability to stay on task and accomplish his work objectives with very minimal supervision. I would recommend him to anyone needing an intelligent, dedicated and thoughtful worker.
