Representative for the College of Ag & Life Sciences

Apr 2016 - Apr 2019
Organized a CALS Club day in which over 30 CALS Clubs set up booths and recruited students for the Fall 2017 semester. Hold office hours in the Ag lounge for students to come and voice their thoughts and concerns. Posted flyers announcing my role around the Ag buildings for students to see. Have spent over 100 hours towards an effort of establishing a career fair for the College of Ag & Life Sciences. Over the past two years, I have surveyed the students in our College to gauge their interest in a fair, met with individuals on campus who run other fairs for the College of Business, Engineering, Natural Resources, etc. Have also worked tirelessly to survey employers in the Ag industry to gauge their interest in coming to a CALS career fair - the current number of interested employers sits over 110 companies. In addition, I reached out to the administration of land-grant colleges across the country that hold Ag career fairs and quizzed them on how they run their fairs, if they are successful and the advantages they have seen from them. I have compiled all of this information into a variety of documents summarizing the shortfalls of our current career services, advantages of a career fair, a break-even analysis of venues of campus to host a career fair and more while consistently meeting with the Associate Dean of our College. Also, I have persuaded our administration to re-establish a College of Ag & Life Sciences Council by gathering information from other Ag schools that have Council's and presented the structure, benefits and viability of a Council to our College.
