Evaluated National Pollutant Discharge Elimination (NPDES) permit regulations and cross-referenced with federal regulations for treating industrial and domestic wastewater to ensure CWA compliance. Performed interviews and facility walkthroughs with facility team members to generate succinct, detailed, and actionable reports to be used by the EPA to conduct enforcement actions against federal compliance violators. Conducted several Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Desktop File Review Audits which involved record review for MS4 permit holders to evaluate compliance, and the writing of technical memorandums.

  Ann Arbor, Michigan As a Graduate Student Research Assistant, I analyzed fossil coral cores from the Little Ice Age (1700’s) to assess past El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) variability. Corals passively record ocean temperatures as they grow through oxygen isotope ratios in their skeletons, and can be used as a thermometer for ancient oceans.
