My role at Gaia Resources includes numerous GIS analytical and modelling duties. Ranging from asset sourcing, processing, and analysing relationships to modelling areas of interest for baiting using a combination of remote sensing and analytical techniques. One specific achievement was the creation of a functioning virtual reality application in which a user could turn layers on and off, switch between different base layers, change view points, and move around a real-world terrain in rural Queensland in order to examine the landscape, look for inundated areas, and find potential locations for a new dam site.Other tasks involve support and training for natural resource management groups and various other environmental companies, web mapping projects, and on-site GIS support for the mining sector.
