Spending each day ensuring residents feel safe, secure and loved. Continuously looking at ways to improve their lives, meet their needs and give them something to look forwards to each day. With the help of music and a little black dog named Marley, I have opened many seeminly locked doors into the world of people living with Dementia. And I love it !

Working as an Activity Co-Ordinator has given me the chance to witness first hand the amazing effects music and animals can have on people with Dementia. Music can both evoke and create memories that last forever. Because of my overwhelming passion to bring music into as many care homes as possible I have developed a bespoke reminiscing programme which positively engages the audience and enables them to connect with me through music. This is more than just a sing along session however, its a musical interlude that re-introduces people to radio/TV/films/songs/news, events from the past and much, much more. We enjoy a fun filled hour of interaction during which we sing, play instruments, move about a bit and best of all enjoy each others company. Having therapy dog Marley alongside me, is the icing on the cake, both for me and for the residents, who just cannot resist as he sits quietly at their feet waiting for their touch!
