I was a nanny for couple with four children who both worked full time hours commuting out of the city. I worked 10-12 hour shifts cooking, cleaning, bathing, taking to school and picking them up, helping with homework, giving naps and bottles for the two twin toddlers, playing with and nurturing the children. I was employed by First Transit to drive City Bus and Para Transit for Tri Delta Transit in The East Bay Area. As a City Bus Operator, pre-trip and post-trip were required on every vehicle assigned to. This requires checking entire bus over, from the engine compartment down to the wheelchair tie downs, to make sure the 40 foot bus or para transit bus, was safe to take onto the street and pick up passengers. If there were anything wrong with the bus, ex. a headlight out, it needed to be taken to the mechanic and fixed. Then dead-heading to a specific location to start the route, picking up passengers and safely transporting them to their desired destinations, accepting fares, loading and tying down passengers in wheelchairs. The same is true for para transit, the only difference, is that it is a door to door service for elderly and disabled passengers. Show less

At Lowes, I worked as a Returns Clerk, servicing all returns coming back to the store previously purchased by customers. My job was to determine whether or not an item was to be refunded due to a malfunction or just not needed, then refund monies back to the card they've paid with or give cash back. Other duties included were regular cashiering to give breaks to other cashiers, separating returned items or go backs to the designated areas. Calling respective departments to take their go backs back to their aisles to be put away back on the shelf. Proper marking defective or broken items and taking them to the back of the store to be accounted for. Also, basic opening and closing procedures such as cleaning work stations, replacing receipt paper and shopping bags, and putting go backs away on the shelves. Show less
