During the traineeship I had to demonstrate a very competent level of the following programming languages and technical skills ● HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript ● PHP, SQL, React, jQuery ● Java, Python, C#, Node.js ● Command Line Git, GitHub ● Remote API access Towards the end of the course I completed two fully functioning projects: Portfolio Project #1: “Gazetteer” The specification was to reply to a website specification for a map-based app to provide information on countries – with a focus on a “mobile-first” development. Preferably using a framework, to then develop HTML, CSS and JavaScript with JQuery modules that use PHP server-based components to source data from third-party APIs (Geonames, OpenWeather). The solution is assessed on its delivery to specification, functionality, and usability. Portfolio Project #2: “Company Directory” A more rigorous reply to this specification was required as a user requirements document was needed to be prepared which, when signed off, triggers the release of SQL allowing to develop a “mobile first” application to maintain a company personnel database (MySQL). Sign-off is only achieved upon the student supplying an independently witnessed document providing confirmation of the system’s ability to perform error-free. Show less

      • Manage 25+ accounts, sustaining good relationships with business buyers and key decision makers (average GP of set of accounts increased from £211 per day to >£750 per day in the space of 1 year). • Prom calling prospect businesses, opening new accounts and bringing in new revenue for the business (4 quality accounts opened in 2017 which expected GP > £5000 PA). • Monthly business development meetings with clients, to discover and influence new prospect businesses to purchase our products over our competitors. • Provide solutions for accounts that require materials out of our stock range, as well as resolutions for projects in question (I have formed excellent product knowledge, and an understanding of the nature of work from various types of businesses to best suit their needs). • Surpassing monthly GP targets on a consistent basis (May 2017 – £645GP per day when target was £525, June 2017 - £745GP per day when target was £650). • I contrasted two reef fish monitoring methods, which portrayed fish assemblages. • I exposed the invalidity of using FishBase parameters, in order to calculate biomass for fish species. • I highlighted the fact that more contemporary technologies may not depict an accurate representation of reef fish assemblages. • I oversaw dive teams, ensuring that all sites were fully surveyed before the survey period ended. • I managed and trained new members in the fields of data analysis and software usage. • I collaborated with local Bajo tribe fishermen, who were permanent sea nomads with little exposure to outsiders. • I developed a strong competency for applying univariate and multivariate statistical methods. • I analysed the prevalence of chytrid fungus samples from hylid frog species within the Cusuco National Park area. • I independently ran DNA Polymerase Chain Reaction tests within a lab environment. • I was competent in identifying the temperature at which the fungal disease was most prevalent. • My dissertation focused upon identifying disease hot spots, which aided in future research pieces.
