  I currently work as a news reporter at Helsingin Sanomat, writing news articles for both the online and the print edition of the newspaper. My area of focus is local news, mainly (but not exclusively) news related to the Keski-Uusimaa region as well as the capital region. As is typical in the media industry today, my role as a journalist isn’t limited to just writing. Photography, filming short videos, administrating social media groups and networking are also part of the job description. Naturally, keeping up to date with what’s going on in my focus region and searching for news and stories related to it are also a big part of my day-to-day work. My position as well as the unit I work in, are both brand new at Helsingin Sanomat. This means I’ve also had the opportunity to take part in the challenge and excitement of building something new.
