It provides a new tunnelled harbour crossing between Rozelle and North Sydney, together with an upgrade to the Warringah Freeway. This will be the second road tunnel under the Sydney Harbour, consisting of 6.5km dual 3-Lane tunnels from the Rozelle Interchange linking through to the Warringah Freeway to ultimately integrate with the M2 and M1 corridors. Development of ULU as a satellite deposit to Echo Bay’s Lupin Gold mine began in 1996. A decline was extended to the 155-meter level, and 16,011 m of underground drilling was completed before the decline in gold prices forced a suspension of activities at ULU in August 1997. The company became a subsidiary of Kinross Gold Corporation in 2003. The ULU deposit contains an inferred/indicated mineral resource of 1,130,000 t grading 11.34 g/t gold (373,748 oz) to the 360-m level. The portal was re-opened in 2005. Completed a summer exploration program consisting of 13 drillholes and bedrock channel sampling, sample description, core logging, associated with gold-bearing acicular arseno-pyrite.
