Experience

    • Summer Intern

The Atlanta Bar Association Summer Law Internship Program is an all-in program wherein I was required to submit an application, 2 letters of recommendation, my transcript and sit for an in person interview before being selected. (There were approximately 90 applicants for 49 positions.) Prior to starting the actual Internship, there were four mandatory orientations covering issues such as confidentiality, professionalism, punctuality and attention to detail. I was placed for six weeks with the Georgia State Law Clinical Program, where I worked with the attorneys and staff within a partnership on projects such as opening and closing files, preparing for court dates, research opportunities and even volunteer work. During the Internship Program, Interns were required to do weekly Enrichment on topics relating to the legal system as well as a 700 word essay (which turned out to be over 2500 for me), on a United States Supreme Court decision. This internship gave me a much wider and detailed experience with the pre-law aspects, being surrounded by students, as well as the different sections of the law and its inner-workings. Show less
