  I gained an outstanding record of success at HME Technology, where I grew the business, improved profitability, transformed the culture and streamlined operations. I have been instrumental in building the company’s reputation for outstanding, personal customer service and delivering high quality products that are in line with current educational standards and thinking following security and IT best practises. With responsibilities that encompass every function of the organisation, I gained the practical experience and training to understand what is needed and what needs to change to make a business thrive and grow. I am systematic, methodical and organised, with a management style and interpersonal skills which effectively motivate, inspire and coach people at all levels. I feel it is vital for children to be involved with Design & Technology and IT at an early age as it is the best start possible for them to explore some of their innate skills. To this aim I fostered a relationship with the charitable group the Imagineering Foundation (www.imagineeringclubs.co.uk) that provide 'hands-on' after school clubs for 8 to 16 year olds using engineering and IT kits and models that I organised for HME Technology to supply and coordinate with clubs.Outside of work I enjoy hiking, Rugby Union, technology and the chance to fix things. Such studies and careers today are a progressive area of design and manufacturing in a world of high technology and systems.As IT and Business Systems Director, I have a very wide remit and have been instrumental in the company’s international success for the last 12 years. I was the driving force behind growing the business and increasing profitability, in a very price sensitive market. I have proactively analysed and streamlined processes, and introduced new revenue streams and initiatives such as the ‘Imagineering club’, which raised our profile as well as supporting our commitment to inspiring students about engineering, IT and science as a career. As a people manager, my style is empowering and democratic and I transformed the company’s culture from reactive to proactive and customer focussed with a reputation for exceptional after sales service and long-term relationships with our clients. I also made significant improvements to productivity by improving business processes and technology, and as lead on sales and marketing introduced new ranges and branding.
