My passion for sport and sport development lead me down the path of becoming a assistant marketing manager at the PUK-Rugby Institute. Responsibilities included sponsorship liaison, campus activations, and player activities, fundraising events and graphic design.Responsibilities detailed:1. Marketing & advertising- Design of marketing material, such as posters, pamphlets, screen savers and programmes.- Conceptualising and planning of all marketing with the head of marketing.- Marketing and promotions at of the PUK Rugby and Leopards Home Games – to ensure full capacity crowds at home games.- Involved in promoting and marketing of billboards and advertising space in and around local sports grounds.2. Fund canvassing- Organized music events: Theuns Jordaan ± 3000 people attended in 2003 and 2004.- Participated in the organizing of the "Manne-Aand" – social fundraising event for men. Approximately 700 people attended in 2003 and 800 in 2004.- Responsible for the launch of Hostel Rugby in 2003 and 2004. ± 3000 students attended.- Took part in organizing of tours for the 2003/2004 Tri Nations Rugby Test in Cape Town & Durban, 400 rugby supporters on tour in 2003 & 2004.3. Organizing of special events- Organized the Year End Formal Dinner for the North-West University Rugby Institute in Potchefstroom, South Africa. 250 couples attended the event.- Organized Informal "Dines" (dinner) for respective rugby teams. 200 people attended.4. Liaison- Responsible for all liaison functions for the rugby institute involving the main campus of the university, including all liaison with rugby players, the media, sponsors, advertisers, students and parents.5. Web design- Solely responsible for the design, management and updating of the PUK Rugby Institute's web page.
