Vivid Sydney 2013 - Euphonious Mobius

  Consult with engineers and material supplier on design and fabrication. Prepare documentation for manufacture of individual pieces. Oversee and assist with production/manufacture (laser cutting) Devise and implement motivation strategies for the rest of the team as deadlines approached. Build the structure of the display, solder, test and adapt electronics and lighting. Set up the installation onsite in Darling Harbour. Vivid Sydney is a unique annual event of light, music and ideas, featuring many of the world’s most important creative industry forums, a mesmerising free public exhibition of outdoor lighting sculptures. Euphonious Mobius was the featured project I was involved with. It is a self-supporting, three dimensional parametric structure, measuring 5 meters wide and 1.8 meters tall. All 800 pieces were precision cut out of Acrylic and Lit up with LEDs. The structure was on display with a back drop of both Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge for the three week long festival. Show less
