In this time I got to know him as someone who always strives for excellence, is very committed to his work and believed that I could execute tasks that seemed impossible to me at the time - while being patient with me bombarding him with questions. At the start of my career I wanted to stay as far away from data as possible. After a short time of working on a data project with Jacques, his passion and awe-inspiring understanding of data his relay of the power it holds and all of its possibilities, swayed me in the opposite direction. I've met very few people who have such an in-depth understanding of data as well as an impressive understanding of a wide range of other technical areas such as infrastructure, architecture and general development.
