  Work involves responsibility for assisting the Personnel Officer in the following areas; Recruitment - supervise and direct the County's recruitment process to insure compliance with union contracts, County Code, Charter and all applicable labor laws; Classification and Compensation - supervise and direct the preparation, maintenance, and review/revision of classification plan.; Employee Development - supervise and direct the County's Training, Testing, Educational Assistance, Internship, and Co-op programs; Oversee the County's CDS program, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Temporary Services, and Unemployment Claims; Assist in budget preparation; Supervise and direct the Competitive Procurement process for assigned programs; Interpret existing policies and procedures and provide continuous review of internal administrative procedures to simplify processes and maximize the effectiveness of the unit; Assist in planning, organizing and directing assigned programs within the Office of Personnel. Supervises a staff of professional and para-professional employees.
