I am the Senior Royal Navy AUV operator and currently the Officer in Charge of the Maritime Autonomous Systems Trials Team (MASTT). MASTT is responsible for delivering autonomous systems trials (including AUVs and USVs) and tactical development in support of the Minewarfare & Hydrographic Capability (MHC) project.I generate teams capable of operating both Remus 100 (VSW) and Remus 600 (MCM Recce and Survey variant) AUVs for operation from MIBs, RHIBs, Hunt Class MCMVs, SVHOs and vessels of opportunity. I ensure that MASTT exploits all sensor information gathered developing procedures for their optimum use, liaising with the MW and HM community and UKHO as appropriate.I provide tactical guidance for UK and where appropriate NATO publications, assisting Naval Command HQ and the Maritime Warfare Centre by identifying tactical development opportunities and development of AUV tools.
