During this time I was involved in numerous high profile IT projects. One example required strong leadership involving steering a recently formed team needing guidance in setting up methods, procedures and techniques, whilst also recruiting and inducting new staff members into the team. The product was also at an early stage in its lifecycle –and there were aggressive timescales for converting all sites to this platform. In addition, the product required a large amount of functional change. During this time I gained invaluable project management experience and skills.Other roles required all-round management skills. During the later period I project managed various project teams and systems, some of which were new product developments and others which were functionally rich and stable production systems. A significant amount of my time was involved in liaison with customers and end-user groups with the aim of taking feedback to improve the systems. Show less

On joining the company I became a trainee analyst/ programmer, and quickly gained the experience to become a team leader.During my time as Team Leader, the product produced by the team was successfully launched and was significant step in the company’s strategic move into EDI. As a result of the product launch, I was given aggressive budgetary and business targets that were exceeded. I also implemented numerous controls and methods within the team resulting in a more stable and supportable system.Following the success of the first product launch I was moved into the forefront of future developments for the company. The role involved leading the team and ensuring all external stakeholder and end-user requirements were met – sometimes these requirements were contradictory and involved negotiations with each party. I had direct contact with stakeholders and end users throughout the project. Show less
