Resident assistants are assigned to a residence hall of 70 students or more and given the responsibility to facilitate community growth and community gatherings. As a resident assistant I directly lead, managed and facilitated the needs of the residents within my hall. In doing so I helped coordinate campus move-in, provided conflict mediation as needed, and intentionally met with students in order to foster relationships. I regularly scheduled and met once a week with my Resident Director and my team in order to organize, plan and establish specific details for future events. As a resident assistant I planned community gathering events that would be engaging, fun and attractive in order to host as many residents as possible. In order to achieve a popular event I personally designed posters, flyers, bulletin boards and door to door drop offs in order to campaign for our gatherings.
