Experience

    • Spanish Teacher
      • Aug 2020 - Present

I currently teach Spanish through the natural approach to language learning using comprehensible input and focusing on standards based and rubric based grading. During my time in the foreign language department, I helped update our teaching methods to coordinate with the state and national standards while implementing culture as the driving force in lesson planning to help create context for students to learn. I was also a part of the team that helped path the way for holistic grading through rubrics so that students can see growth, strengths, and areas of improvement.

During those two years, I taught students from 3 years old to community college level classes that consisted of classes in science, social studies, history, health, English, electrical tech, and medical tech. I was also actively involved in the Erasmus program helping connect students in Spain to other classes across Europe in the efforts of creating cultural connections.
