I studied the lipid kinase PI4KB to elucidate its key roles in the replication of several prominent human pathogens, including RNA viruses, malaria and cryptosporidium. I utilized numerous structural and biophysical techniques, including hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDX-MS), to study PI4KB and its crucial regulatory proteins at the molecular level. I also studied several novel inhibitors of PI4KB and the related PI3Ks using X-ray crystallography and kinase assays to aid in anti-viral, anti-malarial, and anti-cancer drug development. Show less
