  Discovered new herbs with potential to increase physical and mental energy levels through consumption in a tea. I organised and categorised hundreds of studies which will be used to support the development of new Pukka products and help gain further insight into how the consumption of herbs may benefit our health. The Internship lasted 10 weeks total and allowed me to explore how we may improve our own health while consuming foods that are less damaging to the environment. I worked closely with Vivien Rolfe and Glen Davison on this project and had a very positive experience. It is a shame the project had to draw to a close as there is so much research to explore! I will be taking many of the lessons learned into my future career and into my personal life for example, drinking green tea in the morning! The project opened my eyes to a different side of health through the understanding of one's own dosa's and I am very thankful to have had this experience. Show less

  Working with Organic Training was a surreal oppurtunity which allowed me to apply my Sport Science knowledge to an already established business and develop personal training programmes and templates to increase the performance of athletes. I created a personal training web-application to increase the efficiency of personal trainers by reducing the time and energy required to create training and nutrition plans. The application was built using python and excel and worked out nutritional values automatically and gave bespoke plans. I applied the principles of sport science to these templates while integrating the python and excel functions which I taught myself. The project was based from my own understanding of the current fitness market and involved project management and financial assessment to create a plan for the web application Covid-19 has meant a lot of businesses are moving to more online services, and so working with Organic Training to take their services online and access a wider range of clients has provided invaluble business experience. I worked with the company in developing a personal training mobile application by applying Sport Science fundamentals to areas of performance. I hope that I can do the same working for other businesses in future.   While at university, I took on a dozen clients and sought to solve their nutritional needs. My particular focus was on weight-loss with multiple clients playing rugby requiring sport-specific nutritional help.
