Jacob came to support me in my team at FirstPort on a maternity cover contract. I needed a strong and capable pair of hands to manage the important external communications role and ensure we maintained a professional and efficient press office whilst also moving forward proactive media relations around activities the business was implementing. Having had some great contract and freelance past experience, he swiftly got to grips with the role, learnt the company's ins and outs very quickly and hit the deck running, meaning I could continue focusing on my day job and had the assurance that the role was in good hands.

I worked with Jacob on the Editorial Board of Physiology News Magazine - a quarterly publication of The Physiological Society. He played a major role in the transition of the magazine to a new format, online platform and new management structure. His role was relatively new in the society and he oversaw an overhaul of the website, social media channels and our interaction with members.
