SMU Designer
-
Oct 2015 - Aug 2018
+ Handling all the SMU collaborations within the company, I work with a wide range of brands on a multitude of projects (footwear, apparel and accessories).+ Sitting in the marketing team means I’m able to handle the project from conception right the way through to the point of sale. I lead asset production, packaging design, rollout scheduling, and PR, therefore understanding the intricacies of a design project’s process.+ Responsibility of creating and maintaining line sheets and tech packs for technical sportswear garments. High attention to detail was needed throughout the design process to ensure high performance garments.+ I’ve developed a deep understanding of a product’s journey through the eyes of various brands in different sectors of fashion, e.g. luxury, sportswear, lifestyle etc.+ As a result of being the only product/apparel designer in the business with up to 15 ongoing SMU projects at one time, I’ve developed excellent time and project management skills.+ I’ve recently been appointed an Intern from Northumbria University to assist with the design aspects of my role. I’ve enjoyed managing, delegating tasks and teaching the fundamentals of design in industry.

+ Responsibility of creating and maintaining line sheets and tech packs for technical sportswear garments. High attention to detail was needed throughout the design process to ensure high performance garments.+ This meant understanding the core values at the heart of an iconic US fashion brand and merging them with my innovative and forward thinking sensibilities. + Designing new sportswear silhouettes, faithful to the Abercrombie brand but also technical and fit for high performance. I worked with the technical team to make these designs a reality. + Frequent presentation of my work to design and merchandising directors vastly improved my communication skills and made me more confident in speaking to large groups.
