Jacob and I worked together in an editorial setting (The Wake Magazine and The Liminal) and I always found his perspective refreshing and full of heart. He has a passion for what he does and is a great team player.

Sage Dahlen

As Humanities Editor at The Wake Magazine, Jacob shaped and curated a new section of the publication that stretched the boundaries of literary art and criticism, and explored placemaking before it became a buzzword. Jacob wrote, edited, and assigned work for the section which required a lot of ideation, and development, as well as a keen eye for copyediting and design. Jacob's skillset is noteworthy in that he is strong both creatively and analytically. I had the pleasure of working with Jacob both as a fellow editor and as a collaborator on creative content for the magazine.

Coordinate and lead the design of a new section for the magazine, called the “Humanities.” This new direction for the publication incorporates the themes of the literary section and features field note studies of the Twin Cities communities. This new approach allows the magazine to focus on the ever-changing cultural landscape of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The form and function of my responsibilities as editor and content designer do not change.
