My general tasks include operating a press, filling bins with vehicle components, filling out the proper paperwork for each bin, and other paperwork that may need completed which is generally hourly or every two hours. Also, keeping the work area clean, neat and organized. Effective communication with the supervisors, dye setters and fellow employees. If there does happen to be downtime, employees are expected to make themselves useful whether it be sweeping a floor or assisting other employees… Show more My general tasks include operating a press, filling bins with vehicle components, filling out the proper paperwork for each bin, and other paperwork that may need completed which is generally hourly or every two hours. My main duties were to complete a basket of mock up ads by turning them into newspaper ready ads in a program familiar to Adobe Illustrator. Sometimes, I would design logos if a company did not have an official logo, then I could continue to utilize it in their future ads. Weekly duties included car dealership ads, the next week's worth of sudoku puzzles, crosswords, comics, etc. This was a good job to have especially as an entry level position, and if I'd had any sense back then, I would have… Show more My main duties were to complete a basket of mock up ads by turning them into newspaper ready ads in a program familiar to Adobe Illustrator. Introduction into a 'run of the mill' graphic designer position at an advertising agency. We would complete general projects such as logo design, ad campaigns, corporate identities, illustrations, photograph manipulation, posters, flyers, CD covers, etc. We also did all of our own production as needed, everything from pitching ideas and concept development to final product ready for the client. This was a great place to be introduced to the "real world" situation of working as a designer at an ad agency. I was lucky to have a great and wise mentor, Kyle Pattison, who is still a very distinguished artist. I was lucky, and still am very grateful to have had the opportunity to intern at this place.
