I had the tremendous honor to manage Jacob at Carvana for a little over a year. Jacob is a bulldog when it comes to tackling problems. He is innovative, analytical and supremely driven to succeed. He is a master at building relationships with people outside of his workplace that can assist him in problem solving. Jacob was reliable, good spirited, has a great sense of humor, and was well liked and respected by our entire organization. He is so passionate about his work and takes tremendous pride in producing high quality results. Jacob will be a tremendous asset on any team, especially a position that includes inventory or project management.

Working closely with the automation team, my role focuses on pain points. My team performs a deep dive into the surrounding situation(s). Learning the process that brought the initial ask to the table - early in a project - is crucial to identifying root causes and creating a process map along the way. Working this way doesn't just blindly answer the question initially asked, but finds a solution to the situation that takes into account: our current practices, risk, key variables throughout the process, invested stakeholders, and the resources available to improve -- or create -- a solution for the need in question.

Tracking of vehicle inventory at Carvana meant owning the whereabouts of cars in transit, repair, or on the lot 24 hours a day. It demanded clear communication and effective processes. My role was constantly evolving, it included the following for both Minnesota locations (Minneapolis & Maple Grove Markets): • Inventory Tracking & Reconciliation >>> Improved all Minnesota markets from 50% weekly scan accuracy to a -- territory leading -- sustained 97% scan accuracy. • Process Creation & Implementation • Training & Development • Vendor Relations (local & inoperable towing and key vendors) • Sale to Carvana Coordinator • Schedule Writing & Maintenance • Culture Driver - Emphasis on various mediums of communication. My role was inventory management, but my focus was on networking and gathering content knowledge for our hubs. Working at Carvana demanded knowing how to find success while operating in the gray areas. I found success by nurturing internal contacts within most departments at Carvana. By learning basic knowledge of departments within the company, I became a unique resource for our hub in a challenging and rapidly growing environment. Leveraging my knowledge and contacts to create processes that seamlessly flowed from one department to another; ultimately, growing methods into an unmatched product that was the customer experience. I lead a customer obsessed team; prioritizing the wants and needs of the customer vs. chasing sales. I trained my teams to be personable & approachable experts who could answer questions just as much as they could hold a conversation. Creating a better shopping experience and driving customer loyalty. Being able to do this demanded we were organized and efficient in out backroom processes; streamlining and simplifying our practices to free up time and awareness we could better leverage to serve the customer. Additional Tasks & Responsibilities: • Planned and executed daily/weekly workloads to deliver for the department & store's sales goals, as well as guest engagement, merchandising, revisions, pricing, and promotions. • Established relationships with direct-to-store vendors; utilized to create consistent guest experience during COVID-19 disrupted supply chain. • Lead team to uphold and maintain all food and beverage standards. • Lead team onboarding and learning to close knowledge gaps through training and experiences. • Established clear goals and expectations to hold team members accountable. *Generated 23% sales comp in second year leading team.

During my coursework at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire I picked up the interest/skill of editing with Adobe Illustrator. On one occasion I found the opportunity to use this skill set to design a billboard for Stacy Stibal and Woodland Beagles. The requirements were minimal for the job, and I was able to put together a simple design from a recent litter of puppies. The billboard is currently on display in Silver Lake, MN.
