To work with Jake is not only an privilege, but an honor. Jake goes above and beyond to make sure that a job well done is the minimum. His commitment to providing assistance to students at SUNY Plattsburgh is admirable. I have had the opportunity to go through several roles that allowed me to see Jake in different lights. As a student, he was there to answer all of my questions. Never did I feel that I couldn't ask any question, no matter how minute I felt it was. He also took the time to make sure that I, and other students, understood material to the best of our abilities. He is always there for his students as a teacher and as SUNY Plattsburgh's Coordinator of Student Activities. As a coworker, Jake helped me to understand the professional world of academics. He helped me learn the ins-and-outs of the operations of SUNY Plattsburgh. Again, he took the time to answer any of my questions, but this time took the time to point me to the right resources in order for me to be successful within my job. Jake is an amazing person to have on any team. If he doesn't know something, he actively takes the time to learn it and pass that information along. He is an asset to any team that he works for. I recommend him for any position that he hold or intends to hold. His potential exceeds any expectations, and he will better any job title he has.

Few people have the opportunity to report to a supervisor who is also a coach and mentor—but I did when I worked for Jacob. Jacob is one of those rare managers who also naturally serves as an inspiring mentor for the whole staff. With an extensive and unique background, Jacob has strong interpersonal skills and a knack for working with his colleagues. These qualities most notably translate in his ability to motivate a team to care about its project and be invested in the project’s success. Jacob is the go-to person for conflict resolution and problem solving; he steps in to diffuse tension and induce compromising. Though he’s never one to draw attention to himself, Jacob's positive attitude and the respect others feel toward him are palpable. His enthusiasm and passion for his work is infectious. Jacob would be a great colleague, mentor, or supervisor for any organization.
